My involvement in photography began with a bite from the photo bug as a freshman in high school. The greater part of my professional career has included working in the photographic retail industry. The early days of my retail career gave me the opportunity to truly fuel my passion for taking, developing and printing photographs. Working in the darkroom printing black and white photos was one my greatest pleasures.
My Pentax experience began with a Spotmatic in the 70’s, a 6x7in the 80”s leading to my present day K5IIs and owning many models in between. I have always been so impressed with the handling of their camera bodies as well as the image quality of their lenses.
The evolution of digital photography has changed the face of capturing, editing and printing images, allowing unlimited possibilities. Like the technology I use to capture images, my photographic style, technique and vision are also constantly evolving. Whether shooting portraits, landscapes, or candid street scenes, on thing is certain, I continue to see new and familiar subjects in a whole new light.
In using elements such as color, contrast, tone, direction of light, timing and overall basic composition to affect the impact of the final image, I bring my vision to the present moment. Whether it is a meditative landscape image or someone going about their way in Central Park, I always try to envision the moment.
