I've been shooting Pentax for thirty years. But my first photographic experience came at the age of ten with a two-dollar plastic box camera. I started developing my own black and white film and made some contact prints. But I didn't get serious about photography until some ten years later when I was working as a freelance magazine writer. The earnings were meager, and I realized I could make more if I shot the photos as well. I bought a screwmount camera, two lenses, and some darkroom equipment, and went to work. Today, I'm doing a lot of magazine, stock and commercial photography, and I've combined my photo business with a marketing services agency. I'm a stringer for the New York Times, and my work has been shown in a number of galleries, including Avenue Gallery and Zoom Gallery in Birmingham, Michigan.
