I started photography with an interest in capturing those beautiful scenes in nature that surrounded me on my trips into the northern woods of Ontario and my canoe trips into Algonquin Provincial Park. I have a great passion for landscape photography in both color and black and white. As of late I have been turning more of my photographic endeavors toward black and white images and paying more attention to the subjects I overlooked in my previous pursuits for color nature imagery. The subject matter I wanted to investigate photographically and emotionally was such that it lent itself to the bare essentials of composition: light, line, and texture. The interplay of these elements combine to produce infinite possibilities for the photographic artist to examine and analyze; seeking out the "poorer quarters" of what surrounds us constantly, and pulling out a poignant perspective on the seemingly mundane. The secret, metaphoric compositions lay before us all if we take the time to stop, and look, and think, and feel. My current direction is in fine art print sales.
