I was born in 1976 and during my childhood I spent my freetime with cycling and building of model kits. Photography was a point&shoot affair for me. When I started to take many pictures of car meetings for my friends and me, buying a digital camera in 2000 became a good idea. My progression from a snapshooter to a more "seeing" amateur photographer started when I was given the chance for a study exchange in New Zealand in 2001. The landscape really captivated me and made me look at the world around me with new eyes. When I finished my Mechanical Engineering studies in 2003, I bought a Pentax *ist DS when it came into my price range. And this camera really has given my love for photography a new momentum: It's a camera that makes you want to use it, just like a camera should. My photographic interests are wide spread. I started with landscape photography and this will always have a place in my heart. Learning macro photography with dSLRs took some getting used to, but now I love it. Recently I find myself broadening into more abstract shots and working to improve my people photography.
