Born 1951 in Iceland. Lived in India and South America until the age of 16. B.A. in English at the University of Iceland. M.A. in English literature at the State University of New York, Stony Brook. Ph.D. in historical linguistics and medieval literature at the same university 1981. Bought my first SLR, a Pentax MX, in 1979. Had my own darkroom in NY and dabbled in B&W photography during my student years. After that breadwinning became my major preoccupation, mostly involving lexicography and teaching, and I restricted myself to family snaps and occasional photo excursions. Bought my K10d as soon as it it hit the market and am now completely hooked on digital photography as a hobby.
