I have tried to learn photography for many years. I first started out in the mid 90's with a few cheap used film cameras and spent a short time learning the basics. The price to develop film was too much at the time so I put off learning much more until my first digital point and shoot purchase (a Kodak 1.3 megapixel point and shoot). I really started thinking about all the things that could be done, now that film price was no issue. For the next several years, and several cameras, I shot things that I found interesting and worked on mostly auto settings. In December 2007 I finally moved up to a DSLR (Pentax k100d) and have been learning everything I can by trial and error, reading books and forums, and sharing what I have learned with others. I prefer to shoot outdoor scenes and wildlife, and I find photography to be a great excuse to wander around the outdoors and discover nature.
