I am a husband, father, and high school math teacher who enjoys photography in my free time. My interest in photography comes from my father. In fact, my appreciation for Pentax comes from his as well, as the first camera I ever remember him using was a Spotmatic back in the 1970s. After learning the basics of SLR photography on a Minolta SRT, I spent several years just using a Canon point-and-shoot digital. In early 2010 I was ready to get back to the feel and features of an SLR, and that is when I bought my Pentax K-x. Traditionally I have preferred landscapes and other nature photos, but recently I have gained an interest in portraits, abstracts, and macros as well. Digital photography is great for exploring new techniques, both from a cost and instant-feedback point of view.
