Having shot film SLRs of different brands since he was fourteen, Marc traces his rekindled passion for photography to going digital in 2009, when his wife gave him a long hoped-for K-7 for Christmas. Since then his photographic learning curve has somewhat risen, as has his opinion of Pentax bodies and optics. Subjectwise, Marc shoots anything that touches him, from his family (including the dog) to things he encounters on walks and trips. He lives in the Lower Rhine region, near the Dutch border. His credo? "Photography is ultimately about viewing, about learning to view a scene as your camera 'sees' it, and then capturing the essence of it. Gear matters, but it is always secondary to that."
