I worked in a slaughterhouse all summer to save money for my first SLR, the Pentax ME Super. I must have really, really wanted that camera. In 1985 it was stolen from my yellow tent while camping in the middle of a football stadium in Tralee, Ireland, during the ultra-mega-cheesy "Rose of Tralee" festival. Knowing how much I missed my camera, a friend gave me a second hand Olympus OM20 which I used for many years. Unfortunately one dark, stormy night in Scotland, I left it out in the rain beside my car and then managed to drive over it the following morning. I dug it out of the mud into which it was embedded, but it didn't work too well after that. So then I started sharing my partner's Pentax P30 and thankfully didn't damage it in any way or she'd have been very annoyed. And then digital happened and I eventually bought in with the K10. I've only dropped it badly once so far and it seems to be standing up nicely to my occasionally indelicate handling. If you're the person who stole my ME Super from me, can I have it back please?
