My introduction to photography started many years ago with an uncle’s gift of a Baby Brownie Special. But it wasn’t until just before completing a bachelor of music degree (teaching) that I gained a serious interest in photography and bought my first slr, a Pentax MX. I then left for 2 years travel in Latin America armed with beginners Spanish , my MX and 3 prime lens. Photography and travel soon became a passion. Going digital has brought excitement and a new spontaneity back into shooting for me. (4 rolls of Velvia still sit in my fridge.) I love being out of doors, and I hope to convey that love and respect for the outdoors, especially where I now live, where the coast mountains meet the sea. Travel photography is a returning pull I also feel growing every day. Through it I satisfy a need to experience and record my interaction with cultures quickly disappearing under the growing influence of modern western culture.
