I originated in Chicagoland but moved west to Denver when I was 20 to be closer to the Rocky Mountains that I so dearly love. I love getting out into Colorado's backcountry and seeing the wonder of creation. I've been to the top of 8 of our 54 "Fourteeners" (peaks above 14,000 feet). Rocky Mountain National Park is one of my favorite playgrounds, and I get up there as much as I can. Beyond my love of the mountains, I also enjoy a myriad of pasttimes: reading, biking, trivia, reef aquariums, music, etc. etc. I've been actively engaged in photography since I was 9. I come from a family of photographers, so I learned many of the basics very early on. My very first "real" camera was also my Dad's first real camera -- a Mamiya/Sekor 500 DTL. I still have that camera, and use it for B&W work occasionally. Since that time, I've moved through the M42 mount to Canon FD onto Canon EF and now Pentax K. Along the way, I've made some journies into Medium Format and Large Format, but have yet to actually commit like I have with my digital Pentax gear.
