I was born in Derbyshire and was fascinated by the landscape and wildlife of my surroundings as I grew up. I studied art before turning to Landscape Architecture as a profession. Understanding and uncovering a sense of place is the common ground shared by my job and photography. During my art studies I used a Pentax P30 film SLR. This helped me learn the basics of photography. It was then natural that I progressed to using Pentax DSLRs, first with the *istDL2, and after that was stolen, the K200d. I have recently upgraded to a K-7, and am delighted with the quality of images this camera gives me, the build quality, and ease of use. I use it to capture details of urban life, architecture and the natural landscape which catch my eye.
