Karen purchased her first Pentax camera, the MX, in 1979. When Pentax began to offer AF SLRs she upgraded to the SF1, SF1n, PZ1, PZ1P and then to the *istD, K10D and currently the K20D. Having been an artist most of her life, working in many mediums, her artistic eye has helped Karen a great deal since she has begun taking photography seriously and now photography is the only artistic medium she works in. Karen prefers close up work, flowers, wildlife, still life and experiencing new challenges in photography. A number of photographs have been sold, several have been magazine covers, a photo will be used in a 2009 calendar, and her first 2 entries into a photo show have just been awarded 1st and 3rd placements in the professional division.
