I think my love of photography is genetic, inherited from my father. Some of my first photographic memories are of my dad and his camera. I remember as a child, working in the darkroom with him - the smell of the chemicals, the glowing hands of the timer clock; squeegee-ing off freshly rinsed strips of negatives with my fingers the way he showed me. When I was in high school, he gave me a camera. It was a Pentax Spotmatic, circa 1967 I believe. With 50/1.4 and 135/3.5 Super-Takumar lenses. I still have (and use) that camera and those lenses to this day. In college I took photography courses to refine my skills, and began to develop my deep passion for this amazing art form. I shot Minolta for a while, but after moving to digital I came back to pentax. I love the compact body and lenses of the pentax system, which makes it easy enough to carry a camera with me at all times. I am almost never without my k100d with 21mm and 40mm pancakes, always ready if an opportunity should present itself. My style tends to be rather diverse, from landscape to street to portrait to still-life; anything that catches my eye or has visual interest. I try and see things that may be unusual or in a different perspective, that may in turn give others a new perspective. to me photography is about an individual's unique perception of reality, and being able to share that perception directly with the viewer.
