I started out with a little Hanimex camera when I was a kid, paid for by saving up my pocket money! I think it might have cost £35? Then I stopped taking photo's for quite a few years before buying a Canon APS film camera. I loved the way you could change the aspic ratio but hated the fact I was disappointed with a lot of photo's when they came back from the developers. So back in 2004 I bough a little fixed lens Canon Ixus digital camera. It only had 4 megapixels but was tiny and re-sparked my interest because I could take it everywhere without a second thought to it's size and weight. I think it might have been the smallest digital camera on the market at the time? It also got me interested in the value of macro. But, of course, it was limed in the control it offered and I started me thinking about what I wanted from my photography so at the end of 2009 I bought a Panasonic LX3, which I still have. Great little camera, the only problem is the extra control it offered only served to prove I wanted more! I also found that low light performance, a quicker shutter speed, more zoom range and generally more control would be beneficial. Which brings me up to date and the purchase of my first SLR in June 2011 - a Pentax K-5. So I'm still learning but enjoying it immensely. I love 500px for the standard of photo's on here and use these as inspiration. Any comments, positive or constructively critical, are greatly appreciated. Thank you for looking and reading! Simon
